Beauty Make-up

Colourpop cosmetics review

Colourpop has slowly and quickly became one of the best known make-up brands. Ever since I saw so many positive reviews about their products, I wanted to buy them, but I had no chance to actually order them, since I did not know what to order nor how quick they would get here intact.

Now, after quite some time, I finally decided to place an order on their website, and I must say that I was not let down. The order took 3 weeks to get to Europe, which is relatively quick (well, as quick as it can get).

Let’s have a talk about the products:

     1.Super shock shadows

These shadows are very popular and they are recommended by many beauty bloggers/youtubers. Now I understood why. First of all, they are very pigmented, they are creamy and long lasting. I am really happy that I have finally purchased them. They are also very versatile and you can create many looks with them. In my trip to Greece, I used them for my make-up looks and I must stay that they have stayed put through all the heat and long hours of walking.

I have the Nuts and Berries set, which contains 3 creme powder eyeshadows, 2 metallic/shimmery shades and a matte terracotta shade, which I absolutely love! They feel very silky to the touch and they blend like a dream, all this while being long lasting. I absolutely love the colour selection on this set. And Cheap Date was my fave.

Next, we have Zingara, which contains 4 warm toned creme powder eyeshadows, extremely pigmented and silky to the touch. Inside the bundle we have:

Elixir– a matte terracota shade

Jinxie– a soft pearled gold

Paradox-a satin warm burgundy red

Seeker-matte warm reddish brown

You can apply them either with a fluffy, synthetic brush or with your fingertip by tapping the shadow directly onto the lid. Jinxie and Paradox offer a satin finish, while Elixir and Seeker have a mate finish.

     2. Take Me Home  Eyeshadow Palette

This is a very neutral eye shadow palette, which is perfect if you want a daily look, or even a smokey eye look for the evening.  This palette contains 6 eye shadows 3 mattes and 3 shimmery/metallic shades, but it contains mostly brown and nude shades.  What I liked about the Take Me Home palette is the fact that it comes with a mirror and the eye shadows are intensely pigmented, very easy to blend, and long lasting. They can be used wet or dry and the texture is very silky. The 3 matte shades (Issues, French kiss and Popular demand) are pigmented but they are a little bit powdery, especially the shade French Kiss. In what concerns the 3 shimmery/metallic shades, they can be applied wither with a brush or with your fingers and are smooth.

The size of this palette surprised me. I expected it to be a little bit bigger, but I guess in this way you can easily take it with you when you travel, despite the fact that nowhere is mentioned that it is a travel size palette. I was a bit disappointed that some of the shadows were too pressed, while one of the shadows was extremely powdery and left quite some fall out. Overall, if you are a huge fan of neutral tones, and of an easy-to-take eye shadow palette, you might love it.

     3.  Ultra Matte Lipstick

Besides their eye shadow palettes, Colourpop is also known for their lip products. They have created a very nice formula for their lipstick and glosses, which are being recommended by many beauty gurus. I have the ultra matte lip in the shade Mama. The formula is not drying and it feels really nice on the lips. The colours are very diversified and for 6$ they are performing really well. What I might also add is the fact that it stays locked on your lips and even after swatching it on my hand I had trouble taking it off. If you are in need of a long lasting, not so drying matte lipstick, then this one is a must in your make-up bag.

     4. Dream St. Palette

This eyeshadow palette has been very popular and I must admit that one of the main reasons I bought is the collaboration between Colourpop and Kathleen Lights, who is one of my favorite youtubers. In what concerns the price, it costs 16$, which is a really acceptable price range compared to the quality. The packaging is really pretty. The palette has 12 eyeshadows- 5 shimmery/metalic shades and 7 matte shadows. What I really love is the fact that they are pigmented and very easy to blend. They blend like a dream, even though some of the shadows are too pressed and you have to work your way to get the pigmentation to show up.

What surprised me was the size of the palette. When I ordered it online and by seeing it in different tutorials on Youtube, I really thought the size was different and the palette would be bigger than its actual size. Overall, I really think it is a versatile palette and you can create many looks with it, depending on your creativity :). Also, you have many tutorials using this palette so you can find your inspiration from them. What really let me down was the fact it did not have a mirror.

All in all, I am really happy that I finally got these products and I plan to order more from their website. Colourpop has really great products and they are a steal compared to the quality! Plus, their make-up is vegan and cruelty free.

What would you like to try from Colourpop? If you tried any make-up product from them, what was your favorite?
