Hello! I hope you had amazing start of this year! In today’s blog post I will talk about some products I have been testing since last year. Kiehl’s products have been quite popular, especially their midnight recovery concentrate, which I always wanted to try. In 2019, it’s time for us to focus more on our skincare and getting our skin to glow. 🙂
What I really like about Kiehl’s is that when you order from their website they allow you to choose 5 products samples to test out. I must say that the samples are quite generous and can be used up to one week so you can get a pretty general idea about what their products are like.
Also, the experience in the store was really nice. I was not sure about buying the face oil, but after talking with the girl which worked there, she offered me a sample to test out so I could get a better idea whether I would like it or not. It turns out I did, because in just 3 days after using the sample every night, I started to notice changes in my skin. I have purchased the 30 ml bottle and let me tell you this will last you for a long period of time because you don’t have to use a lot of it. It can also be used by someone with oily skin.
The Midnight Recovery Concentrate is one of their best selling products and it is a rich facial oil one can use to restore the tone of the skin and the natural process of recovering of our skin which happens during our sleep. I was a bit skeptic at the beginning, but I gave it a try anyway.
In case of face oils they are pretty much a hit or miss, because some can tend to irritate your skin and make you have breakouts. I worried a bit when I started to test it, because my skin can easily get breakouts if I don’t use the right type of cream. The Midnight Recovery Concentrate can be used on its own or you can simply add 2 or 3 drops intro your favourite moisturizer. I know some of us do not like the feeling of oil. What is really interesting is that I expected it to be extra greasy, but instead it has a very dry and non greasy texture. Also, I love the scent- it is not too strong and it the perfect amount of lavender with primrose.
I love this face oil because:
- It really hydrates my skin
- It makes my skin look brighter and firmer in the morning when I wake up (I can sleep for 5 hours, and my skin would still look great, but we are breaking this bad habit in 2019)
- Lovely scent and easy application
- The non extra greasy texture
- Versatility (you can also use it to apply it on your neck, hands, feet)
- The packaging
- I know it is a bit high up there in price but you really will get your money’s worth.
- The natural ingredients
In what concerns the samples which I have tried:
–Ultimate Strength Hands Salve– It hydrated my hands a little bit, especially now in these colder months. The cream contains avocado oil, sesame oil and eucalyptus oil as key ingredients. I did not like the scent at all, which makes perfect sense because of the main ingredients. It had a somehow minty yet strong smell. Kiehl’s says they formulated it for the driest and most active hands and the ingredients were selected so as to allow the skin to absorb water from the air, so as to form a protective barrier against moisture loss. Indeed, it is a very heavy hand cream and somehow I liked that it did not leave a sticky feeling on my hands, but I did not notice such a huge change from my normal hand cream.
–Ultra Facial Cream– This is another one of their best selling products and I had to try it. Indeed, after 2 uses I noticed that my skin felt more hydrated and looked better. It also does not have a very overwhelming scent. I know now why is one of their best sellers and I am thinking abut purchasing the full size cream.
–Daily Reviving concentrate– This would be the day version of the midnight recovery concentrate. It did not do much for me.
-Midnight Recovery Eye- It was really good, just as the face oil. If you need a cream for the under eye region which hydrates but doesn’t leave a greasy and sticky feeling after, then you would like this. It also made my under eye skin look more radiant. If you have been looking for a good eye cream, you should definitely give this one a try.
–Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash- Where should I begin? I love it! It is the first cleanser which did not over dry my skin, but it made it look more radiant, and gave it a healthy glow, while leaving it softer. This cleansing foam is for normal-to-oily skin types. It is a gel and it transforms to foam once you add a little bit of water. It is formulated with Calendula Flower Extract and Glycerin and is soap and sulfate-free. I loved the scent so much and I really noticed such a change in my skin after using it, it looked refreshed and luminous. It imporved my skin and it made look healthier, which is a “Yes, please!” I will for sure purchase the full size product, because it really impressed me. Actually I never thought a sample could impress me so much after the first try.
Overall, I really liked Kiehl’s products and I will be purchasing the products mentioned above, especially because the brand focuses on using natural ingredients. Kiehl’s this is the beginning of a very beautiful friendship!
